We're excited to embark on our 4th youth season of lacrosse where boys and girls aged 8 and under can ignite their passion for the game!

Our mission is to nurture a lacrosse culture that inspires young players to strive for excellence and personal growth during the thrilling 2024 season.

What's in store for the 2024 Spring Season?

This spring our K-2 teams will participate in the IYLL (Illinois Youth Lacrosse League), in addition to a house league with Crown Point and Munster. We also hope to offer one travel tournament opportunity.

For many, U8 is the first lacrosse experience for both parents and players. Valparaiso Lacrosse is dedicated to introducing young players to the fundamental skills of lacrosse, all while warmly welcoming parents into our lacrosse family. Our coaches undergo specialized education and training to ensure the U8 experience is inclusive and provides players the opportunity to learn all positions in the game.

Valparaiso Lacrosse U10 teams are a mix of new and returning players to the sport of lacrosse. At the U10 level, athletes begin rebuilding & refining their fundamental & technical skills of the sport. We often find athletes who played during 1st and 2nd grade years grow the most on this team, and begin to develop their team leadership skills with new players.

The U10 age group focuses on building a love for the game and building an excitement for playing lacrosse, while rooted in lacrosse skills fundamentals and developing the overall fitness required to excel in lacrosse.

U10 is where competition begins to heat up. As a parent, the U10 seasons are some of the most fun to participate as kids are still learning the game.

Coaches, players, parent and officials work together this season to HAVE FUN develop & refine new skills during team play, develop leadership and sportsmanship skills.

Note: This season our youth teams will play within the IYLL League (Illinois Youth Lacrosse League in addition to playing teams from the South Bend area. This league allows us a variety of opponents and league tournament at the close of the season.

Valparaiso Girls Middle School Youth Lacrosse program is the perfect opportunity for girls to embrace this thrilling sport and embark on their journey towards high school lacrosse.

During the upcoming season, our Middle School girls team will practice, play, scrimmage, and compete, including a possibility to play a tournament in the tri-state area. Indoor practices will commence once a week in February, transitioning to twice a week outdoors by late March. Games are set to begin in April, concluding in late May or early June.

It's important to note that girls' lacrosse has distinct rules, equipment, and expectations compared to boys' lacrosse. As girls progress, they have the choice to play either boys or girls lacrosse during their youth years. However, starting in 9th grade, female players will be eligible for our girls high school lacrosse team. Valparaiso Lacrosse is committed to providing our middle school girls with the opportunity to learn and thrive in girls lacrosse lays the groundwork for a seamless transition into the high school girls team.
